Lucille Marie Abraham, age 76 of Warren, died Saturday, October 10, 2015 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren. She was born June 17, 1939 in New Jersey, daughter of the late George and the late Agnes (nee: DePascalle) Flora. Not only through her profession in food service, but at home as well, Lucille was known for being quite the accomplished cook. Together with her training & experience and the natural skills she possessed in the kitchen, she could work her own brand of magic with a stove and oven,…and there were always happy bellies that departed her dinner table. If you left one of Lucille's feasts hungry, you just weren't tryin'!Lucille had a number of favorite pastimes that enhanced her life. If you were to ask her daughter Karen, she'll happily admit that one of her Mom's treasured "hobbies" was driving her nuts! But in all actuality, two of Lucille's favorite escapes came in the form of reading and sports. For a little of the more sedate and cerebral, she loved to read. Curling up with a good book often provided Lucille the perfect release and balance to a hectic day. As for her sports appreciation, nothing could match the exhilaration she found in watching her favorite 'boys of summer', the New York Yankees, do what they do best. Having been born and raised in New Jersey, she had become quite the die-hard fan and supporter of one of baseball's premier dynasties. But of all she considered favorite and precious, her family and friends reigned supreme. Spending time in their company ushered in some of life's most endearing moments; the stuff of which the most wonderful memories were made. Lucille touched a multitude of hearts and lives throughout her journey in life and leaves a legacy of love for all to cherish who were fortunate & blessed to have known this compassionate soul. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally. Lucille was the loving mother of Michael (Eileen) Abraham, Karen (John) Fantaro, Mark (Sheila) Abraham, and Lisa (Paul) Abraham. Devoted grandmother of 11, and one great-grandson, Logan. Dear sister of Elaine Gordon and George Flora. A Memorial Visitation for Lucille will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 12 pm to 4 pm, with a 3 pm Memorial Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. Please share memories of Lucille at her memory book above.
