Lyle Edward Griebe

Lyle E.Griebe, age 80, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren. Lyle was born September 19, 1934 in New Bedford, Illinois to the late Herman A. and the late Mary L. Griebe.With thanks & praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Lyle for his service to our country during the Korean War era as a soldier in the U.S. Army. From September of 1954 through September of 1956, he answered the call to duty and served with pride and patriotism for the preservation of freedom for us and our allies overseas. We honor his service and extend our posthumous gratitude for the sacrifices made.For over 30 years, Mr. Griebe worked in the tool and die department for Chrysler where he extended the utmost in dedicated service for the automotive giant. During the last several years of his working career, Lyle was proud to serve as a union representative. When he wasn't working, Lyle loved to frequent garage sales and flea markets. He was also a huge sports fan, and especially enjoyed watching golf on television. Mr. Griebe enjoyed the musical sounds of Crystal Gayle, and his children simply remember him as a great and loving father. Lyle was the beloved father of Glenn, Scott, and the late Kelly Griebe. Dear brother of Louise Chapp, and the loving grandfather of Keely, Kyle, Kaeden, Sara, Rhonda and Katie. A Funeral Service for Mr. Griebe will be held at 4:30pm on Saturday, December 6th at the funeral home, which will be preceded by his visitation period from 3:00pm until the time of his service.
