Lynda Marie Bertrand, age 65 of Sterling Heights, died Sunday, August 27, 2017 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren. She was born March 24, 1952 in Detroit, daughter of the late John and the late Norma (nee: Macneice) Stendel. There were so many aspects of joy that filled Lynda's life, but there was no mistaking that one of the greatest of these was her esteemed love for all-things-Music! Her heart and soul were infused with music, and it enveloped so much of how her life played out. Among the many ways music enhanced Lynda's life, it truly shone each time she was sharing it in song. Lynda loved to sing and share the beautiful melodies that flowed so freely from her soul. Heaven's Choir just got a fantastic new recruit! When Lynda wasn't tending to her household chores or caring for the needs of family, you would have often found her helping out at the kids' school or volunteering in some way. She had the heart of a servant and the compassion of a saint,…if you were in need of anything, Lynda was always there. But after the needs were met and the duties were fulfilled, then it was time to break out the playing cards and get the gang together for a little Pinochle action. She loved the game of Pinochle, especially when it came with a little conversation & competition around the table with family and friends. And if she wasn't playin' cards, then her next love was watching them played on her favorite game show, Card Sharks. Harkening back to the 80's, yet still in syndication today, give her a little Bob Eubanks action and some card flippin',…and Lynda was truly on Cloud 9. Yet of all the aspects of her life that meant the most, nothing could hold a candle to the warm fuzzies she always enjoyed in the company of loved ones. It didn't really matter what was going on, just that it was going on with someone special. Lynda's family and friends were her world, and they will all attest to the fact that Lynda was the glue that kept it all together. When it came to great communication and keeping in touch, Lynda taught the course. A loving wife, mother & grandmother, Lynda crooned her way into everyone's life and left a song in their heart,…just like the Bluebird of Happiness. She was a consummate homemaker who poured the utmost in tender-loving-care into the lives of those with whom she was entrusted. Her lessons on love and humanity touched the heart, healed the soul, and left every life a bit more enriched simply through their association. Lynda will truly be missed by all who were blessed to know her, but will be gloriously lifted up with each reflection shared. Rest in peace. Lynda was the beloved wife of Dave; dearest mother of Dave (fiancée, Jaclyn) Bertrand and Christina (Dave) Hines; and loving grandmother of Dave "Trey". She was the cherished sister of Susan, Deborah, Sandra, and the late John. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd.) in Warren.
