

Marion Erma Allemon age 77 died Sunday June 28, 2015 at her home in Warren, Michigan surrounded by her loving family. Marion was born January 1, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late Alphonse LaGrou and the late Madeline (nee: DeClerck) LaGrou.Marion was raised on her family's farm in Warren. She worked as a farm girl for her father along with being a caregiver for her sister. Her father taught her the value of hard work which she carried with her throughout her life. Marion attended St. Anne's Catholic School and later Warren High School, all the while working her daily chores on the farm.Marion would meet the love of her life while selling produce at the Eastern Market in Detroit. The year she met Paul Allemon was 1955 and the two would later seal their nuptials at St. Anne's Catholic Church on July 13, 1957. The young couple first settled in Detroit and later in Harper Woods to be closer to their family business, Allemon's Florist and Garden Center on East Warren Avenue in Detroit.Marion and her husband Paul ran their family business for many years along with raising their five children. The family and the business were intimately intertwined with all the children lending a hand. Mrs. Allemon was the consummate mother and homemaker, consistently putting her children and family ahead of her own needs. She would make every effort to be at everyone of her grandchildren's sporting events or school events. Also she became very involved with the Little People of America, and an advocate for Little People and dwarfism through education and research. Mrs. Allemon would speak annually to the Wayne State Medical School students discussing the subject of dwarfism and genetic research along with her son Bernie.In addition to her family Mrs. Allemon was very proud of her Belgian heritage. She was a member of the Belgian-American Ladies Club, the Belgian-American Century Club, and the Belgian-American Association of Retirees Club.Mrs. Allemon kept very active during her life running the floral shop, raising her children, and staying active with her clubs, going on casino bus trips and siteseeing traveling. However she had other hobbies and joys in her life... She was an avid sports fan, watching the Detroit Red Wings, and Tigers. Catching football games and of course watching her daily soap opera, "The Days of Our Lives". Quiet time to herself was spent reading many romance novels of which she shared with other family members.Marion was the beloved wife of the late Paul Henry Allemon, and is the loving mother of Ken Allemon, Larry (Delfina) Allemon, Kathy (Tom) Snyder, Nancy (Robert) Lopetrone, and Bernie (Dee Dee) Allemon. She was the devoted grandmother of Ben, Jessica, Allie, Tiffany, Stephanie, Matthew, Victoria, Joshua, Carmen, and is the dear sister of Diane Myny, and sister in-law of Mary Ann (Martin) Herzog. Aunt of Lynn Meyers, Chuck Myny, Dale, and Steve Herzog. Mrs. Allemon was predeceased by her parents Alphonse and Madeline LaGrou, and her brother in-law the late George Allemon. Visitation for Mrs. Allemon will be Wednesday from 2-9pm with a 7pm Rosary at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road). Mrs. Allemon will lie in state Thursday 9am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, until the time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30am. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Reverend Fr.
