Mark Donald Hungerford

Mark D. Hungerford, age 53 of Warren, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at home. He was born on September 24, 1956 in Detroit. He is the Son of Valarae (nee:Szmiot) and the late Donald Hungerford. Mark was a roofer by trade, and a hard worker in everything he tackled. With strong work ethics at his core, he was a loving provider for his family. When he wasn't working, many of his favorite interests could be summed up in one word..."sportsapalooza!" Anybody acquainted with Mark knew just how passionate he was about sports, affectionately known as a "Sports Nut." Whether it was football, baseball, soccer or hockey, he was a fan of them all and often poured his knowledge and fervor into the various fantasy leagues from each venue. When it came to his love of hockey, he took it a step further by mentoring the up & comers as a hockey coach. Even while doing something fun, as through his enjoyment of hockey, he was working hard to make a difference. But his greatest passion in life was definitely his loved ones. The times spent with family and friends was treasured immensely by Mark, and he was truly a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. The lives he touched were many, and they are now left to cherish the special memories that were created and shared together. He was the beloved husband of Lucille. Dearest father of Jennifer and Kevin. Stepfather of Katherine, Martina, and Kristy. Loving son of Valarae Hungerford. Devoted brother of Susan and Donna. Also survived by two step-grandchildren, Carissa and Jude. Visitation for Mark will be on Friday, July 30th from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at the funeral home.
