Martha D. Jezewski, age 93 of Warren, died Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Brighton Gardens of Northville in Plymouth, Michigan. She was born on June 9, 1918 in Union Town, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Andrew and the late Lucia (nee: Wozniak) Jozwiak.Martha was a graduate of Hamtramck High School. Though she didn't know it at the time, fate was already beckoning as that was the school where her future husband, Frank also attended. Following her high school years, some of Martha's work experiences included time at a dentist office, a hospital, and the U.S. Rubber plant near Belle Isle. She always had the desire of attending nursing school, but the tuition was simply unmanageable. It was a little later in life that Martha would become an integral part of the family business, the P.C. Jezewski Drugstore on McNichols in Detroit, where she worked long hours as the store's clerk. She truly enjoyed her work at the store and made many wonderful friends in the process. She had a very outgoing and friendly personality, and found great delight in engaging the customers in conversation. Aside from her employment experiences, Martha was very involved with various church activities as well. A devout catholic woman and parishoner at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, she was a proud member of their Altar Society and often volunteered her time in soliciting product donations for their parties and fund raisers. It wasn't easy, but she could be quite persuasive. She also volunteered as the clerk / cashier for St. Bartholomew's School Bookstore. Along with all of her expertise outside of the home, Martha is affectionately remembered for the loving and capable traits she possessed as a mother and caregiver to her family. She was a masterful cook, a detailed seamstress, and a homemaker in the truest sense of the word. She was also a very strong-willed lady who was challenged with many health issues over the past few years, but is a testament to her survival well into her 93rd year. Fighting several infirmities, her hearing loss and crippling arthritis were her constant woes. Still, she fought like a trooper! A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Martha poured her heart & soul into her loved ones and strangers alike, and she made an impact on many lives in the process. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be treasured always. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to each and every person whose help and support made a world of difference throughout Matha's many health challenges. The family couldn't have done it without you!Martha was the beloved wife of the late Frank. Dear mother of Frances (Frank) Fabinski and Monica (Thomas) Fabinski. Loving grandmother of Cynthia, Louise (Guillermo) and Victoria (John). Martha will lie in state on Monday, May 14th from 10:00am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 14115 Fourteen Mile Road in Sterling Heights.
