Born in Detroit to the late Joseph and Lillian Baginski, Marty retired from General Dynamics after 42 years. He served as a volunteer firefighter for the city of Center Line, retiring as Lt. in 1999. He loved coaching little league baseball with his best friend, the late Gary Curtis. Marty made several trips to Lakeland for Tigers Spring Training- he was an AVID Detroit Tigers and Detroit Pistons fan. He also loved going up north to Houghton Lake with his wife Cindy and snowmobiling with his sons and stepsons. Marty loved playing euchre and pinocle (understatement) with friends and family. However, Marty’s most prized title in life was Papa. When his grandkids Brooklynn and Sophia were born, they were the light of his life. They knew they were loved by him and he called them, “Papa’s girls.” His love of ice cream was a nightly treat that he rarely missed, a memory that his sons and granddaughters will not soon forget. A loving husband, father, papa, brother, and friend to many, Marty will be dearly missed by all who survive him.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 9th from 2pm until 8pm with a Rosary at 7pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, in Warren. Marty will lay instate at 10:30am until time of Funeral Mass at 11am at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 14115 14 Mile Road, in Sterling Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Huntington’s Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Avenue Suite 902 New York, NY 10018, are appreciated.
