Mary Jane Louise Sieloff passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, at the age of 91. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Sieloff, with whom she shared nearly 61 years of devoted marriage before his passing in 2019.
Mary Jane was a loving and devoted mother to Kimberlee (Dan) Sieloff Tripp, Kathy (Andrew) Calcaterra, Paul Sieloff, and Keri (Robert) Bright. She was a cherished grandmother to Hannah (Todd), Kayce, Dryden, and Emma, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy. She is also survived by her dear brother-in-law, John Sieloff, along with many other loving family members and treasured friends.
Born on October 6, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late George and Stella Hughes. She graduated from Pershing High School in 1952. During her confirmation at Olivet Evangelical Lutheran Church in Detroit, she met the love of her life, Edward. Their shared faith laid the foundation for a lifelong partnership, and in 1958 they were married at the very same church where their journey together began.
Mary Jane found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid reader, often surrounded by piles of books, and enjoyed solving puzzles and relaxing with her favorite programs on the Hallmark Channel. Together, she and Edward loved to travel, creating lasting memories both on the road and at sea, often in the company of dear friends. Mary Jane was a “QVC queen,” she had a keen eye for a good deal and delighted in sharing her finds with others.
She was an exceptional host, quick-witted, and warm, making everyone feel welcome in her home. Mary Jane was deeply dedicated to her children and their activities, faithfully supporting them and frequently found in the bleachers cheering them on at hockey games. Her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life, and she was a faithful and active member of the Lutheran Church. Above all, she was a devoted grandmother who treasured time spent with her grandchildren.
