Mary Pletta, age 76 a longtime resident of Warren, died Sunday, April 18, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. Mary was born August 31, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late John Kowalczyk and the late Julia (nee: Pawlonka) Kowalczyk. Mary was always giving, to anyone, at any time, and without a single moment of hesitation. Whether it be sharing a story, suggesting a recipe, lending out a book, or always having that one random household item on hand, Mary was happy to give and help in any way she could. Mary loved to read, and it was nearly impossible to catch her without her famous Detroit Tigers mug filled with coffee day or night. Mary worked many years of her long, fulfilling life in the concessions business allowing her to be her true self, "a people person", every single day. She saw over 25 years worth of baseball games, concerts, and special events and was always willing to tell a tale of the sights she saw. Her warm heart, lots of laughter, and infinite love will be greatly missed by all of those who were lucky enough to know her. Mrs. Pletta was the beloved wife of the late Richard Pletta. She is the dearest mother of Larry (Margot) Pletta, Kathy (Mike) Roy, and the late Richard Pletta. Cherished grandmother of Katie, Lindsey, Rick, Alex, Jessica, Mike Jr., and Chris. Also surviving are her dear sister Wanda Kowalczyk, and her daughter in-law Beverly Pletta. Visitation for Mrs. Pletta will be Tuesday from 2:30-9 pm with a 8:30 pm Rosary service, at the D.S.
