

Michael C. DeLaere age 71, of Warren, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at his home. He was born on March 23, 1938 in Detroit, the son of the late Charles and the late Margaret DeLaere. Michael was a devoted husband and father, with his wife Carolyn always at his side. He loved spending time at his cottage at Higgins Lake with his family. Michael was a respected architect and businessman known for his ability, integrity, and honesty. Professionally, Michael enjoyed designing highly functional buildings for his clients and had a keen ability at problem solving. In addition to his skills on the drafting board, Michael also put his knowledge to work with his hands, performing everything from rough and finish carpentry to plumbing and electrical work at both his residence and vacation home. Michael also enjoyed serving on the Warren Village Historical Commission, his work with Detroit Rotary International, and woodworking, boating, and target shooting. Most of all, Michael was a good and kind man, who simply cherished spending time with his family and friends. Michael is survived by his wife, Carolyn; children, Michael Jr. (Kathy), Gregory (Rebecca), and Matthew; grandchildren, Andy, Michael III, Charlie, Jeremy, Jenny, Gregory Jr., Jennifer, Christina, Madison, and Adrianne; siblings, Mary, Patrick, and Paul. Visitation for Mr. DeLaere will be Sunday 3-9 p.m. at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road).
