Michael Thomas Frey

Michael Thomas Frey age 68 died March 19, 2012 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Michael was born March 17, 1944 in Detroit Michigan the son of Mildred (nee: Stonehouse) and the late Truman Frey.Michael was raised in East Detroit and attended East Detroit High School until entering the military. Michael served his country first in the United States Army and later during the Vietnam War with the United States Navy. Following his military service he returned to Michigan and went to work in the automotive and aerospace industries. Michael worked for many years at several companies as a plant manager. The companies he worked for included GTS in Shelby Township, and most recently MSX Corporation. When he was not working Mike loved the outdoors' his wife said he should have been a cowboy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating.Mike's pride and joy in life was his grandchildren, and even though some lived in Michigan and others in Massachusetts he would make every effort to connect the cousins on little family vacations at one place or the other. When the kids were young the trips could be chaotic, however Mike cherished every moment.Mike was the beloved husband of Kathy, and dear father of Holly (Tom Breen), and Wendy. He was also the loving grandfather of Brittany, Samantha, Christopher, Danny, and James. Dear brother of Julie (Tim) Heisler, and Betsy (Victor) Mastrogiovanni. Mike is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and family members. Memorial visitation will be Saturday from 12 Noon until 4pm. Please share memories of Mike at his guest book.
