Michael Gene Sparks

Michael Gene Sparks, age 60 of Warren, died Monday, December 7, 2020 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was born March 29, 1960 in Fort Knox, Kentucky, son of the late Phillip and the late Leevon (nee: Bolin) Sparks. 

With a father in the Army, Mike moved around quite a bit as a kid. Before moving to Michigan, he lived in California where he enjoyed skateboarding and surfing. As he grew older, he took pleasure in golfing, fishing, and taking care of his most prized possession- his ’62 Chevy Impala. Those close to Mike knew him as an avid sun-worshiper.

Mike was married to the love of his life, Sandy, for 39 years, but shared a wonderful 43 years together. They had two beautiful children, Jenna and the late Dillon. He also loved his dog, Cocoa. Mike and Sandy loved to attend as many concerts as they could, as well as spending quiet evenings at home watching movies, sports, and game shows. Mike was also strong in his faith as a member at Grace Christian Church in Sterling Heights. Mike will be remembered for being a loving father and husband, a man of strong character, and for his sense of humor. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally by all who knew him.

Mike was the beloved husband of Sandy. Loving father of Jenna and the late Dillon. Dear brother of Mark (Cathy) Sparks and Sandi (Marty) Carter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and was preceded in death by his parents Phillip and Leevon.
