

Peter Nemer Kaiser, age 86, died Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. Peter was born January 6, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Edward Nemer and the late Massody (nee: Habib) Nemer.Peter was raised in Detroit and attended Henry Ford Trade School. Following his education, Peter worked in the Tool & Die trade at many of the local job shops. However, Uncle Sam would call Peter to serve his country during the Korean War.Peter served in the United States Army achieving the rank of Corporal and eventually returned home safely with an honorable discharge. Again, Peter would return to the Tool & Die profession, a craft he worked for many years before becoming the owner and proprietor of the Wish-U-Well Tavern in Warren. Peter operated the tavern for over 16 years until his retirement.When Peter was not working, he loved to golf and play poker with his buddies. In his younger years he bowled and was quite good. Over the years, Peter and his wife enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas where they would golf and give Ole Lady Luck a run for her money.Peter was a devout Catholic, a parishioner at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Sterling Heights, and was dedicated to the church for over 45 years. Peter was also quite proud to be an American Veteran. He was a member of the Harry Ollrich American Legion, Post 4 in Mount Clemens, Michigan and also served on the board of his Homeowners Association for many years.Peter Kaiser was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth "Goldie", and the dear father of Marlene (Greg) Quirk, James (Kari) Kaiser, and Michael (Margaret) Kaiser. He was the loving grandfather of Veronica, Rachel (Josh), Deanna (Daniel), and great-grandfather of Athena. Also surviving are his siblings, Edward (Mona) Nemer-Kaiser, Angeline LeBlanc, Richard (Elsie) Nemer-Kaiser, and his sister in-law, Joyce Nemer-Kaiser. Mr. Kaiser was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Jonas, Theresa, John, and David.Visitation for Mr. Kaiser will be held Wednesday, June 10th from 3-9pm, with an evening Vigil, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. Mr. Kaiser will lie in state Thursday from 12:30 pm until time of the Funeral Mass at 1pm at St. Malachy Catholic Church. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Reverend Fr. Joseph Gembala.
