

He was born on November 9th, 1935, in the country formally known Yugoslavia, to his parents Anton and Maria Hammer.
Philip and Anna are a true love story. They met when he was 11 and she was 9. They grew up together, experienced life together, raised a family together and spent 65 years of love and devotion by each other’s side as husband and wife. A man always known to others as “a true gentleman.”
In recent years he enjoyed spending his free time traveling, hiking and most importantly, being with his family, especially his grandchildren. Hiking the Devils bridge trail, in Sedona, AZ, just 4 years ago.
He was an accomplished soccer player. In 1962 he was an All American Amateur Champion with the Carpathian Kickers. He continued that love for the sport as a coach, sharing his knowledge of soccer with younger generations.
He worked at Iroquois Tool & Die for 43yrs where he became a plant manager, and just like in soccer, he mentored and shared his knowledge and experience. Philip was a member of the Carpathian club for 66 years. In recent years he enjoyed spending his free time traveling, hiking and most importantly, being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He by his survived by his beloved wife Anna of 65 years, his Daughter Ingrid Hammer, son Philip (Annette) Hammer. Grandchildren Olivia Luna, Austin Hammer, Lauren Hammer and brother Adolph (Mary) Hammer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister Theresa Olsavsky.
A memorial gathering is planned for April 1st, 2023 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. with a memorial Mass at 10:00 A.M. all at St. Paul of Tarsus Church, 41300 Romeo Plank Rd., Clinton Township, MI 48038.
