Randy Robert Perkins, age 51 of Clinton Township, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren. He was born on February 15, 1962 in Detroit, son of the late Gary and the late Elaine (nee: Bartoles) Perkins.Randy was employed as a Research & Development Specialist for a manufacturing firm in Sterling Heights where he extended the utmost in dedicated service for many years. Along with exercising his expertise and skills in a field he was well informed upon, Randy was often recognized and lauded for his knowledge and creative mind through his various patented designs and written work that was published in respective industry magazines and periodicals. He poured himself into his work and a career in which he took much pride and satisfaction,...a trait that is quite rare these days. When he wasn't working, Randy's greatest satisfaction was found in taking care of those special people in his life, and extending his own, unique brand of care to just about everyone else. Some of the terms that were used to describe this loving son, brother, uncle and friend enveloped things such as; easy-going, kindhearted, giving, funny, and the kind of person who genuinely cared. If you were having a bad day, it was Randy you could always count on to provide that needed lift. If it was something you needed, Randy was the guy who would give you the shirt off his back. If you just needed a good laugh, Randy was always there with the perfect joke. Possessing a naturally happy countenance and a great sense of humor, he was affectionately known as "everyone's friend." He loved to make people laugh and be happy,...and leaves a long line of people who will miss his giddy heart and loving spirit.Yet of all that love, laughter and lightheartedness that he so generously doled out, the dearest portion was that which he shared with his beloved family,...especially his cherished nieces and nephews. Never having children of his own, he lived vicariously through them and was the worlds greatest uncle. It was no mystery how much he poured himself into their lives, and some would say "spoiled them," which earned him the term of endearment, "Uncle Sucka." But he wore it proudly. Not only figuratively, but literally as well as he had it embroidered on some of his shirts for all to see. Where others saw him spoiling the kids, he really had no choice. It was a reflection of the deep and abiding love inside that simply couldn't be capped or hidden, and a giving spirit from the Dad he never was. Randy's is a life gone far too soon from our presence, but one which was lived large in the seemingly small amount of time he was given. He touched a multitude of hearts & souls along the way, and leaves behind many lessons of how to live. laugh and love. May the memories of how he made it look so easy be a guidepost to us all of just how important we are to each other. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally by all who were blessed to know him.Randy was the loving brother of Steve (Lori) Perkins and Laura (Jeff Green) Perkins. Devoted Uncle of Camrin, Tanner, Bryauna, Maloree, Carson, and Jack. He is also survived by his best friend & roommate, Bill Wyman.
