Raymond John Stankiewicz Jr., age 77, died on Sunday, April 25, 2021 in Mount Clemens, Michigan. He was born March 8, 1944 in Hamtramck to the late Raymond J. Stankiewicz Sr., and the late Mary (nee: Gashinski) Stankiewicz.
Raymond was raised in Detroit where he attended grade school and then moved to Roseville where he attended high school and graduated from there in 1962. Following high school Raymond received his invitation from Uncle Sam to come on down to the draft board. With thanks and praise we honor Raymond for his service in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Raymond served in the Air Force for over four years before his honorable discharge and ultimate return home to Michigan.
Following his military service, Ray worked a few odd jobs before becoming a Journeyman with General Motors Automotive Company, where he retired after more than 30 years of faithful service in 2007.
Raymond met and married, Judith Warren. The couple wed in Royal Oak on November 30, 1985. They moved to Eastpointe and later moved to Clinton Township in 1996 where they made a house a loving home.
Raymond was a hardworking simple guy who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He was humble, kind, and generous, especially when it came to his wife and kids. His greatest pleasures in life included tinkering and fixing things around his house, spending time with his grandchildren, and he especially loved watching cartoons with his great granddaughter, Arrianna. He will be forever remembered as a good man who loved his wife and cherished children and their families.
He was the beloved husband of Judith. Loving father of Audra (Roy) Austin, Raymond Stankiewicz, Lisa Gilin, Denise Gossman, and Melissa (Jason) Kass. Devoted grandfather of Ryan (Shaunna) Gilin, Andrea Gilin, Emily Gilin, Alyssa Gossman, Julia Kass, Anthony Kass, and great grandfather of Arrianna Colley. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Mary, and his aunt Gwen Stankiewicz.
