

RICHARD LENK, age 79, died March 23, 2007 at Shelby Nursing Center. He was born October 1, 1927 in Hamtramck, Michigan. He was a resident of Gladwin, Michigan until this past year when health issues forced him to move closer to his children. He was predeceased by his wife Doris, August 2, 1996. He joined the navy in January 1946, and was assigned to the naval ship, the USS Goodrich DD 831. He spent most of his naval time in the Pacific Ocean on patrol, traveling to many places including Yokohama and Nagasaki, Japan; Tsingtao, China; Seoul, Korea; Guam and the Panama Canal. After his service, he married Doris Lystad on November 27, 1948. They raised six children in Warren, Michigan. Over the years, he worked as a draftsman for Berg Engineering, Research Design, U.S. Broach, Paslin and Waltonen Engineering, retiring in September 1990. He is survived by his children, Richard (Diane), Barbara (Dale) Price, Beverly (Tim) Studer, Elaine (John) Ess, Daniel and Stanley (Cindy). Loving grandfather of Jeff (Renee), Brian, Andrea, Michael (Dana), Mathew (Jaime), Marc, Melissa (Tony), Joshua, Jessica, Jenna, Jennifer, Jason, Noah, Leah, Hayley and Stuart. He was great grandfather of Gabriel, Owen, Anderson and Grace. Dear brother of Wanda, (twin) Leonard, James, David (Maxine) and the late Helen Radyko. Funeral service Monday 11:00 am at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover at Common (12 Mile). Visitation Sunday 3-9 pm. Interment will take place at St. John Cemetery, Fraser.
