Richard Michael Warehall

Richard Michael Warehall, age 65 of St. Clair Shores, died Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Shore Pointe Nursing Center in St. Clair Shores. He was born March 24, 1953 in Detroit, loving son of the late Michael Richard and the late Sophie Mary (nee: Lipa) Warehall.Though Richard was in his 20's when Cupid showed up on the scene, it didn't take long for him to realize that patience had won the day when he met the woman who would become his wife, Miss Deborah Lynn Dietzler. Their story of romance was a wonderful mixture of two hearts becoming one, and the beginning of their journey together as husband & wife,…a journey they lovingly shared for over 36 years.For his career path, Richard went the way that thousands had chosen back in the day,…that of the automotive industry. Ultimately landing a position with the manufacturing giant, the Chrysler Corporation, Richard extended the utmost in service excellence to the company as one of their coveted Instrument Technicians, a career he enjoyed for 35 years. He was quite proud of the job he held and a dedicated employee throughout his tenure with Chrysler.When he wasn't working, Richard was always ecstatic about the times that he and Deborah shared on their jaunts up north to Mackinac Island. With its charm and old world traditions, the island made for the perfect getaway and refresher from the stresses of life. Each trip seemed to have its own pleasures and appeal, and the two lovebirds enjoyed each memory made amidst one of the most acclaimed newlywed destinations in the world,…right in their own backyard, so-to-speak.When it came to the other pastimes Richard enjoyed, his tastes embodied activities both indoors and out. As for those out-of-doors, he was quite fond of boating and soaking up the fun of the Great Lakes. Taking the boat out for a spin on a beautiful sunny day always seemed like the height of Michigan living for Richard,…and he tried his best to make as many "water-friendly" moments as he was able. Another of his outdoor pleasures was found in his garden, something for which he poured the best parts of his tender-loving-care into nurturing its growth and making it a thing of beauty for all to partake. Like an artist with his paints & easel, Richard easel was the soil and his hands the paintbrush,…and the rest was assigned to his amazing green thumb.As for those indoor delights, there was always great fun to be had with each visit he made to the casino. He was a simple "Slots Guy" who loved giving those One-Armed Bandits a workout, and Ol' Lady Luck a run for her money. Though leaving a lot more wealthy than when he came in bore its own unique hopes, there was simply an excitement and invigoration in all of the sights and sounds of the casino environment that made it such a special escape for Richard,…and kept him coming back for more. Yet for all who were well-acquainted with Richard, they'll attest to his love of model railroading and how it enveloped so much of the boy inside,…and the man with an immense appreciation for the hobby genre and massive detail of the scaled down replicas that encircled his tracks. Richard painstakingly poured himself into his tracks design and treasured each car like the Queen does her jewels. So whether inside or out, Richard had his pleasures covered and knew how to while away the "me time" that life afforded.Richard was the beloved husband of Deborah (nee: Dietzler). Dearest brother of Delphine Gallagher, Dennis Warehall, and the late Geraldine. He is also survived by 3 nieces, 2 nephews, and many loving cousins and friends. Visitation for Richard will be held Wednesday, July 25th from 3-9 pm, with a 7 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. He will lie in state on Thursday from 9:30 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores.
