Richard E. Zaziski, age 76 of Macomb Township, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. He was born on July 12, 1934 in Detroit, the son of the late John and the late Eleanor (nee: Grace) Zaziski. Many will remember Richard as...the warm & friendly face that greeted them as they made their way into church at St. Sylvester's in Warren. Serving proudly as an usher there, he was a longstanding member of the church, and a devout man of faith. He so enjoyed interacting with the public and assisting where he saw a need. Along with his ministry as an usher, Richard was also an avid supporter and volunteer with the Society of St. Vincent De Paul. Others may remember him as,...that honorable & distinguished gentleman, bedecked in his regalia as a member of the Father Kramer Knights of Columbus Council #2835 of Center Line, Michigan. Being quite proud of his association and fraternal brotherhood with this elite group of men, Richard's service in the council was highlighted by his six-term tenure as Grand Knight. Throughout his K of C experience, he was also honored to have served as District Deputy, and a member of the 4th Degree at the Msgr. Van Dyke Assembly. When he wasn't busy with matters of the church or the Knight's, Richard enjoyed a host of favorite pastimes. Whether it was joining in on the fun on the various senior bus trips, challenging Lady Luck at the casino, swingin' his clubs on the golf course, or enjoying a rousing game of cards,...there's no doubt, Richard knew how to have a great time and lived life well. And when it came to food, everyone knew that he was the master of making polish kielbasa. And though his life was enveloped by the wonderful memory of friends, his greatest blessings in life were definitely those spent with family,...especially the precious moments with his grandchildren. Just resting in their presence brought him some of the most treasured moments in life. He was known by many and touched countless lives along life's way. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be cherished, and remembered, by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Go rest high, dear Richard,...and know that you are loved, now and always! He was the beloved husband of Rita. Dear father of Debbie (Mike) Danna, Cheri (Ray) Verdoodt, and Mike (Debbie) Zaziski. Loving grandfather of Eric (Brianna) Verdoodt, Amanda Verdoodt, T.J. Danna, Tyler Danna, Adam Verdoodt, Payton Zaziski, Paige Zaziski, and great-grandfather of Breanna. Visitation for Richard will be held Wednesday 5-9pm and Thursday 2-9pm, with a K of C Rosary Service at 7pm on Thursday, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. He will lie in state on Friday from 10:30am until the time of Mass at 11:00am at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 11200 Twelve Mile Road in Warren. Officiating the liturgy will be Rev. Fr. Dennis Nowinski. Entombment will take place at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in Utica, Michigan. Please share memories of Richard at his guest book.
