Widower of Patricia, they shared 60 years of marriage, friendship, travel, and memories. Born on April 4, 1934 in Harbor Beach, Michigan, he was the fifth of ten sons of William and Sarah Day. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. For many years, he worked as a machinist for GE/Carboloy with his dad and brothers.
In retirement, he and his beloved wife spent the summers at their Michigan cabin and winters in Florida, never without one of their precious dogs. Bob loved his yard and was an avid gardener. His pumpkin patch was a delight to him in the fall and fresh vegetables were abundant in summer. He was a great neighbor and one could stop by for conversation, a little gossip, and a rum and Pepsi. Bob loved life and filled it with smiles and laughter. There are many wonderful stories about time spent with him and he will truly be missed.
Bob was a lifetime member of the American Legion, the Lions Club, and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a devoted Marine veteran and patriot and gave his time and service to others through these organizations.
He is survived by his brother Nelson, many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
