Robert Paul Wiseman, age 80 of Warren, died Saturday, June 9, 2012. Bob was born December 19, 1931 in East Detroit, Michigan. The son of the late Ola and Andy Wiseman. Bob graduated from East Detroit High in 1950. He played 3 years of varsity baseball, as a catcher, on the school's baseball team. He owned a motorcycle while in high school. His first job was setting pins in a bowling alley to pay for it. Bob and Grace were baptized as babies on the same day and grew up together in the church. They were lifelong friends and became closer following a double date set up by Chris Sessink. They were married in 1953, while Bob was serving his country in the Army. They lived in Georgia while Bob finished his last 17 months of service. They later moved to East Detroit to start a family, and attend Peace United Methodist Church. In 1965, Bob and Grace moved to Warren into their brand new home on Edison Drive and lived there their whole lives. They joined Warren Woods Church of the Nazarene in 1975. Bob sang in the church choir for many years and enjoyed the old church hymns. He also was a Sunday School teacher and coached the softball team, where he earned the loving name of "Sparky". Bob and Grace had two kids, Wendy in 1960, and Mark in 1963. They were a very close knit family. Bob was known for his fun, sense of humor, and love of his family. They had 4 grandkids, Matt, Chelsea, Missy and Olivia. You couldn't think about Bob without thinking of Grace, they were the most loving couple. Everyone who knew them saw their love for each other. Bob worked as a boring mill operator for most of his career. His hobbies were bowling, where he once bowled a 300 game, and golfing after he retired, but became too frustrated to enjoy it. His real passion was the Detroit Tigers. He sat and watched many games over the years with his wife and family. He was known to all as the Tigers biggest fan! He was a simple man that loved the Lord, his family and the Tigers. Visitation for Bob will be Wednesday from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ' Mile Road). He will lie in state Thursday at 10 a.m. at Warren Woods Church of the Nazarene until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Please share memories of Bob at his guestbook.
