Roger Francis Hardy Sr.

Beloved husband of Lucia Ann Hardy for 60 wonderful years. Loving father of Roger Jr. (Kimberly) Hardy, Rodney Hardy, and Greg (Tonya) Hardy. Cherished grandfather of Selena (John), Roger III, Rachel, Tommy (Myranda) Gunnells, Samantha, and Christopher. Proud great-grandfather of six. Dear brother of the late Earl (Alberta) Hardy. Roger leaves behind many other loving family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

Roger was born on February 3, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Ervin and Maybelle Hardy. From a young age, he found joy in music, forming a band with his friends and playing drums at local events.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. It was during his time in the service that he met the love of his life, Lucia, at a family gathering in Michigan. After marrying, they spent the remainder of his service together in Boston before returning to Michigan to build a life and raise their family.

Roger had a passion for the outdoors. He especially loved fishing, boating on Lake St. Clair, duck hunting with his sons at Harsens Island, and treasured family camping trips in Atlanta, Michigan. Above all, Roger’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

He will be remembered for his devotion to his loved ones, his warm presence, and the lasting legacy of love he leaves behind.
