Ronald F. Kobeski, age 60 of Macomb Township, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at home. He was born March 9, 1951 in Detroit, the son of the late Edward and the late Charlotte (nee: Lizut) Kobeski. Ron was a graduate of Orchard Lake St. Marys Preparatory. In his youth, he also took much pride in his ministry as an altar server at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Hamtramck. It was just the beginning of a life of servanthood that would span countless hearts and lives. On May 7, 1977, Rons life took a wonderful turn when he promised himself in marriage to the love of his life, April. On that glorious day at St. Florian Catholic Church in Hamtramck, he watched his beloved bride process up the aisle as their hearts were preparing to become one. Following their introduction as husband & wife, the two went on to share over 34 years growing in love, building a home, and raising three beautiful children. Ron was employed in the banking industry where his tenure included the following firms, in the order of his employment; Bank of Commerce (Hamtramck), National Bank of Detroit, First Chicago, Old Kent, and 5/3 Bank, the latest from which he retired in 2003 after taking ill. He enjoyed a distinguished career that was marked by a myriad of successes derived from the hard work ethics he possessed. He began his banking career as a mailroom attendant. After years of dedicated service and loyal contributions to his daily efforts, he ultimately reached the position of Vice President of Consumer Loans for S.E. Michigan at 5/3 Bank. Rons business integrity was unmatched by any other, and he was affectionately considered the Best Boss by his employees. Perhaps the most profound reason he experienced the successes he did was found in the reality of how much he loved his job. When he wasnt working, one of his favorite pastimes was centered in his association with the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America (PRCUA), the oldest Polish / American organization in the United States. Ron was extremely proud of his polish heritage and strived diligently to pass down the traditions that meant so much to him. Without question, one of his favorite of these traditions was definitely found in Polish dancing. Under the umbrella of the PRCUA, he was a proud member of the Gwiazda Dance Ensemble, at St. Florian Catholic Church, where he spent countless hours and nights cutting-a-rugPolish style! Everybody knows that little else spells as much fun as a good polka, and Ron made it look so enjoyable. He was definitely the Fred Astaire of Hamtramck. To anyone who had the pleasure of getting to know Ron, there was no mistaking the kind, generous and charitable heart he possessed. With his unique and unselfish spirit, he always put others before himself. He had a genuine care for mankind, and this was never more prevalent than through his association with the Order of the Alhambra, an organization involved with the mentally handicapped children of Hamtramck. Yet, the most endearing mention would definitely be that of fatherhood, a role he exuded with all the love he held. When it came to his childrens events, Ron was always the first one to arrive and the last one to leave. With the heart of a Titan, he tried his hardest to make all of his childrens dreams come true, and would go without in providing for their needs. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Ron will largely be remembered for his infectious sense of humor which brought a welcome tickle to everybodys funny bone. He was a joy to be around and always left a lasting and loving impression on the many lives he touched along the way. He will be immensely missed and eternally remembered. Ron is survived by his wife, April (nee: Glock); children, Matthew, Jonathan (Renee), and Sarah; grandson, Jacob; brother, Raymond (Regina). He is also the uncle of Edward (Melody), Raymond, Eric, Suzanne, Lynda, Amy, Katie, Zack, Courtney, Little Ray, and Christian. Visitation for Ron will be held Sunday 5-9 pm and Monday 2-9 pm with a 7 pm Eulogy Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road). He will lie in state Tuesday 9:30 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church (2730 Caniff, Hamtramck). Officiating the Funeral Liturgy will be Rev. Fr. Andrew Wesley. Please share memories at Ron's guest book.
