What can I say about the last fifteen years, working side by side with the most lovable, jovial, and colorful man Ive ever known? It was FANTASTIC! I should be thankful just to have been blessed to have Sev in my life as long as this, but Im greedy and wanted more. Ive worked with countless managers over my 30 years in optometry and none have been more knowledgeable about the science of optics as Sev. But beyond that, he made our workplace just plain fun, both for us in the department and for our patients. He was beloved by all. I can still hear him saying to one of our patients after quoting them the price of a pair of spectacles, Oh, so you want BOTH lenses? The passing of Sev marks the passing of an era. Sev, Ill never be able to walk into JCP Optical again without thinking of you and remembering the countless lives youve touched with your charm, humor and kindness. Love, Cindy Hammond, O.D.

So sorry to hear Sev has passed away. I first met him at a party for one of his good friends 80th birthday(Frank Sansone). I ended up sitting next to him for dinner. I was in need of a job at the time. Sev said to come to the optical department and he would hire me. I told him I knew nothing about glasses and had never even had an eye exam!! He told me to come in and he would teach me everything I needed to know about selling glasses.Which he did. He was a great teacher and boss. I worked with him for a couple of years and went to the casino with him once too. He was a very funny man and will be greatly missed. He is in a better place with no pain. To my cousins Eric & Christina I am so sorry for the loss of your Father and to my Dad and Uncle Anton for the loss of your Brother, My Deepest Condolences to all of you and your Families. I remember my Uncle Junior as a Fun loving person who loved to Gamble, wheather it be playing poker with family and friends or going to the casino to play video poker. I met Sev at work at JCPenney's. He was such a nice down to earth gentleman and he will be missed. My deepest sympathies to each of you. I know you have wonderful memories. GOd Bless.

My deepest sympathy to my father for the loss of his brother - to my cousins for the loss of their father. My childhood memories are filled with good times of parties when the adults would gather around a table in the garage to play poker, I would stand behind Uncle Sev trying to bring him good luck and if he was winning he would sneek me a quarter or two. He always had a hug for us when we would see him at the mall while working at Pennies. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

So sad to know We will never see that smile again at J.C.Penneys.I miss him, I miss his humor, I miss his car in the parking lot, I still look for it! Something is missing and it's Sev! We will never forget you! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I have only learned of Sev's passing within the last few days and I am sad beyond words.I last spoke to him several weeks ago and was planning on visiting him at Penneys when I heard he had died. In the 30 years that I've known Sev, I can honestly say he was one of the kindest,sincere and caring people I have ever known (funny, too)! When I worked with him, he was someone I could talk to about anything, work related or not. I could always trust Sev to be honest. I will miss him dearly. Although I'm brokenhearted that I didn't get to see him this last time, I can at least take solace in knowing I will see him again in Paradise. Although I only had the pleasure of knowing Sev for a few hours, I was touched by his incredibly positive spirit - his eyes simply sparkled! To the Donoso family, my heart goes out to you in your time of sorrow - may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

My Prayers go out to Eric and Christina - I know that you will miss your dad but know that he is at Peace. I can say that My Uncle and I often thought alike - I would run into him alot when I was at the casino - someplace we both liked to go, we would see each other and laugh. The most positive recent memories I have of Sev were his affections for the amaryllis bulb plant given to him a few Christmases back (which he grew for quite a few years and measured as it grew) and the stuffed dog I bought his grandson, Attilio, such that I bought Attilio another one.

Jr. (Sev) I never could get used to calling you Sev. When I first met you some 50 years ago, it was Jr., I guess that's what it will always be to me. You were more than a brother-in law, you were a brother and a friend. I will miss our long talks at JC Penny's, when I was supposed to be shopping. I've worked with Sev for about a year, and I have always been impressed by the number of lives he touched. It seemed as if every customer knew him, and they constantly asked about him out of concern during his illness. He will be missed by his friends at Penney's, and by the thousands of people he's helped to see in his years in the optical business. Rest in Peace, Sev.
