Susan M. Smolen

Susan Marie Smolen, age 51 of Warren, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at St. John Macomb Hospital. She was born in Detroit on August 7, 1958. Susan graduated from Warren Woods Tower High School Class of 1976. She then went on to college to pursue a career in health care, becoming a Registered Nurse. Susan loved ceramics and enjoyed shopping whenever she had the chance. She also loved to talk on the phone. Most of all, Susan looked foward to spending time with those she loved the most, her family and friends. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Susan was the beloved daughter of Richard & Arlene Janks, and Ron & Rachel Smolen. She was the loving sister of Linda D. Lenk, Nancy C. Garris, Robert Janks,and Rhonda Campbell. She is also survived by two nieces, Jennifer Tear, Kendal Garris and two nephews, Jason Lenk, and Kyle Garris. The inurnment of Susan's ashes will take place at 11:00AM on Friday, January 22 in the chapel at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery, 38425 Garfield Road in Clinton Township. Following her inurnment, the family extends their invitation for all to join them at a luncheon to be held at Jovan's Restaurant, 35219 Dodge Park Road in Sterling Heights.
