Thomas Michael Fiore, age 66 of Roseville, died Friday, August 26, 2016 surrounded by his loved ones at home. He was born January 19, 1950 in Detroit, son of the late James and the late Rose (nee: Daidone) Fiore. With many years under his belt as a driver and loader in the construction trades (imagine that…an Italian in the construction business…go figure?), Tom possessed a plethora of talents, so much more broad than simply construction. Some might say that his best work was when he was engaging his fellow man in conversation. He could talk to anybody about anything with the ease of a professional speaker, and often left many invigorated with his unique and genuine sense of inspiration. Yet for as motivational as he could be, the other side of the coin found Tom possessing the natural abilities as a Hustler. It always seemed like someone owed him money, and Tom was that guy who was always sniffing out a great deal. Forever in search of the ideal freebies out there, coming away with a "prize" is what it was all about. That type of Yin & Yang quality just came natural for Tom. To quote those closest to him,…for as much as he was cheap (with a loving wink-wink), he was also one of the most fun-loving guys around. For as much of a loud mouth he possessed, he was also known for possessing incredibly strong work ethics. And for as hard-headed as he could be, he held a compassionate side that would melt your heart. Perhaps most notably was his giving nature, that aspect of his character which seemed to be one of Tom's guiding forces. If ever you were in need, Tom was the guy you'd call because you just knew that he would pour the best parts of himself into helping you get through,…whatever it took. He was truly a friend to the end. Though he held onto a number of varied hobbies and favorite pastimes, there was no questioning that his passion was wrapped up in his love for cars,…especially those of the "classic" nature. Being a true Motor City native, the automotive blood that purged through his veins kept his passion well-fed. And again, he was always on the lookout for a great deal, and cars were of no exception,…just like "the one that got away," the jeep in the Temrowski Funeral Home parking lot. Yet for those who truly knew Tom, they'll attest to his "real" passion in life,…Food, Glorious Food! It seemed as though he was constantly eating, or at least talking about when he was going to eat next. If you would have ever asked him what his favorite meal was, he would have (comically) told you,…"the one in front of me!" But without a doubt, Breakfast is what he lived for on the food scene. Breakfast was where it was at, especially when it was at the Ham's Restaurant,…where the best "dish" was served, the one in whom he asked to be his wife, Miss Ruth LeFever. September 12th would have marked their 29th wedding anniversary, but the two lovebird's managed to enjoy the blessings of 28 years and 11 months of love and friendship. At such a young age, Tom leaves us far too soon. But not without leaving a legacy of love that will be felt and cherished forever. A loving husband, father, uncle, brother and friend, he touched a multitude of hearts and lives along the way,…especially to the gaggle of neighbors who treasured their local buddy. Family meant the world to Tom and he lived for every moment they were given to make new and wonderful memories. Go Rest High, Dear Brother,…and know that you'll be missed immensely and loved eternally.Tom was the beloved husband of Ruth. Dearest father of Tim Fiore and Nina (Kirk) Lonsway. Brother to James (Suzie) Fiore, Nicholas Fiore, Mary Fiore, Michael (Kelly) Fiore, and the late Timothy Fiore (Sandra Geister). He was a "Special Father" to James (Kristen) Fiore, Michelle Boggess, and Michael (Elizabeth) Slisinger. Loving "Uncle Tom" to Lillian, Andrew, and Ethan. He is also survived by many treasured nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.Visitation for Tom will be held Monday, August 29th from 5-9pm, with a 7pm Eulogy Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. He will ultimately be laid to rest, with full military honors, at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.Memorial donations are welcomed to the family of Thomas M. Fiore.
