Viola E. Skuza, age 89 of Sterling Heights, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. Viola, the eldest of 12 children, was born on May 24, 1921 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Albert and the late Agnes (nee: Cobley) Cass. With many years of dedicated service as an assembly line worker at the Chrysler Corporation, Viola was most proud of her efforts and her position within the company. After a longstanding career, she entered into retirememnt in 1976. Viola witnessed may changes within the industry throughout her tenure. But perhaps the most profound change from within the workplace came the day that she met one of her co-workers, Stanley,...the man who became her husband, and with whom she shared 36 years of marriage. Viola was a strong woman of faith who enjoyed her ties to the church. She attended services every week, prayed fervently, and was devoted in her beliefs. After moving to Sterling Heights, she became a member and devout supporter of St. Ephrem Catholic Church. From her serious side, Viola was deeply kindhearted and generous, always attentive to the needs of others. From her fun side, she was known for being quite feisty and youthful. There's no question,...Viola loved to have a good time, had a very outgoing personality, and so enjoyed making memories with family and friends. Some of her most treasured memories were those spent with her friends on their whirlwind trips to the casinos. She was also quite proud of her membership in TOPS, an affiliation she enjoyed for many years. The lives Viola touched were many, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will be remembered with each memory and reminiscence of the impact she had on all. She will truly be missed. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley, and she was survived by a large loving family that will miss her greatly. A Memorial visitation for Viola will be held on May 24th at 9:00 am until the time of her Memoiral Mass at 10:00 am with the Rev. Father Ronald Kurzawa officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Please share memories of Viola at her guest book.
