Virginia C. Kwitt Age 90 Died June 12, 2005, at Autumn Woods Nursing Center in Warren, Michigan. Beloved wife of the late Clement. Dearest mother of Michael Kwitt. Virginia had a wonderful life sharing good times and bad with family and friends. Mom worked for some of her early life at The National Biscuit Company and for a doctor in the Fisher Building, later on marrying my Dad and becoming a housewife. Mom and my Grandmother worked together cooking and canning. Always liked to try creative dishes and never liked micro-wave cooking until later in her life. Everything had to be fresh and good for you. Mom was extremely devoted to her religion and church, the former St. Thomas the Apostle, praying the Rosary daily and having great devotion to The Sacred Heart and Blessed Mother. Mom and Dad worked in the church every Wednesday, replacing candles, cleaning the altars and rugs until the closing of the parish. They both sang in the choir. Mom also worked with the late Josephine Hrabovsky for many years on the CSA Collection. After the closing of St. Thomas, Mom and Dad became members of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Parish in Detroit, their new Catholic home. My parents were together at home until 1996, when Dad died of Cancer. Mom lived alone with frequent visits from family and friends. In 1999, Mom fell in her kitchen and broke her hip requiring surgery. After a week in the hospital and with the recommendation of our doctor, Mom moved to Autumn Woods Nursing home, where she was for over 5 years. Over the last few months Moms health declined but she kept in good spirits. Much of her wanting to continue on was helped by the Nurses, residents and staff at the nursing home, where she received excellent care. It is there she died. Mom will be greatly missed by many! Mrs. Kwitt will lie in state Wednesday 10:30 am at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church until the time of the funeral Mass 11:00 am. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 mile). Please share memories of Mrs. Kwitt at the guest book.
