Virginia Mae Potts

Virginia was the loving wife of William for nearly 67 years, and together they shared a life filled with devotion, laughter, and adventure. She was a dear and devoted mother to Joanne (Thomas) Bely, and a beloved grandmother to Jacqueline Bely (Ken Steplitus), Alexandrea (Luis) Dimech, and Danielle Bely. She was a cherished great-grandmother to William Dimech, Abigail Dimech, and Connor Steplitus. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Evelyn, Edwin, Roy, and Doris. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.

A proud homemaker, she took great joy in caring for her home and family, keeping everything immaculate and welcoming. She loved gardening, especially her flowers, vegetables, and the pumpkins and gourds she grew each fall. Baking sweets and canning the harvest from her garden were among her greatest pleasures. Creative and skilled with her hands, she enjoyed embroidery, crafting ornaments, and painting wooden pieces her husband lovingly made for her. She and her husband spent many happy hours doing puzzles together. They enjoyed dancing together very much with square dancing and polkas being their favorite. They often times travelled to watch their favorite polka bands perform. They shared a love of travel, journeying across the country, taking cruises, and even traveling to Europe together. She had a passion for walking, often choosing to walk everywhere, and returning home with a lucky penny found along the way. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, patiently teaching them and sharing her wisdom, warmth, and love.

A visitation will be held at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, located at 32000 Schoenherr Rd, Warren, MI 48088, on January 16, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. An instate service will take place at the same location on January 17, 2026, from 9:30 am until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Alzheimer's Association would be deeply appreciated.
