

Walter Ralph Heine, age 89 a longtime resident of Warren, died Wednesday, October 01, 2008 at Triumph Hospital in Detroit. Mr. Heine was born October 12, 1918 in Highland Park, Michigan the son of the late Frank Anthony Heine and the late Elsa (nee: Heinebrodt) Heine. Walter was raised in Detroit and graduated from Pershing High School. He served his country for over four and one half year in the United States Army during World War II, having attained the rank of Tec 5 with a combat infantry badge and two Bronze battle stars. After Walter's military service he returned to Detroit where he would marry his wife of 60 years. Walter began his work career managing a local Kroger store until he became a driver salesman with Rinna Brothers Bakery delivering specialty breads. When Walter was not working he was somewhat of a homebody, enjoying his time with his wife and family. He also enjoyed gardening and yard work. He was a sports fan who always watched the Detroit Tigers whether they were winning or losing, and also was a Red Wing and Detroit Lion Fan. His outdoor activities included camping in his younger years and playing golf. However Walter's true love was spending time with his family, and grandchildren. Mr. Heine was the beloved husband of Violet T. (nee: Cori) Heine. Dear father of Jane Borse, Dennis (Vicky) Heine, Steven Heine, and Therese (Brian) Leigh. Father in-law of the late Dennis Borse. Loving grandfather of Jeffrey (Carla), Paul Borse, Joseph Heine, Todd (Rebecca) Borse, Laura (John) Janabet, Denny (Jennifer) Borse, and Corey Leigh. Cherished great-grandfather of Amanda, Nicholas, Jessica, Marcus, Madison, Chayse, and Noah. Brother in-law of Rose (Frank) Torres. Visitation for Mr. Heine will be Saturday from 4-9 pm and Sunday from 2-9 pm with a 5pm Sunday Rosary Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 mile). Closing Prayers will be Monday 9:30 am at the Funeral Home processing to St. Edmund Catholic Church for the Mass of the Christian Burial. Celebrating the Funeral Mass will be Rev. Fr.
