William Gaylord Klatt, age 55 of Sterling Heights, died suddenly at home on January 2, 2015. He was born January 31, 1959 in Detroit, son of William and the late Pauline Klatt. For this young man in his early years, the rites of passage took Bill down a path that many boys choose as they enter the throngs of scouting. Bill was most proud of being a boy scout, and enjoyed the camaraderie that just naturally enveloped his peers as well. Once a scout, always a scout,…and this was certainly true for Bill. As the years went by and fatherhood took hold, it just came natural for this scouting enthusiast to introduce his daughter to that same world. And so it was that little Alexis proudly became a girl scout, and Daddy couldn't have been more pleased. But Bill didn't just leave it at that,…rather, he jumped into the fray and decided to serve as a Girl Scout Leader and support his little girl in her efforts going forward. It certainly served as a catalyst for some wonderful memories of Daddy and daughter times together.Bill was commonly known as being a great cook,…and like many men, he loved his portion of sports, especially when it highlighted the Detroit Red Wings or his boys at Michigan State. But without question, his greatest source of joy was always found in the company of family and friends,…with a special dose of pleasure being enjoyed each time it involved his Dad or daughter,…or better yet, both! The three of them shared something unique and genuine, and each time was even more treasured than the last.Bill was a great guy with the heart of a giver, and easily fit the character type of a person who would give you the shirt off his back. If you were in need, he'd do his utmost to help in any way he was able. He leaves behind a storehouse of warm & wonderful memories for all to reflect upon who were blessed to know him. He touched a multitude of hearts and lives along the way, and he will be missed immensely. Gone far too soon from this side of Heaven, may he now enjoy the other side as he rests in peace.Bill was the loving father of Alexis Klatt. Dearest son of William and the late Pauline Klatt. Brother of George, Gerald, Paulette, and the late Gregory Klatt. Visitation for Bill will be held Wednesday, January 7th from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. His Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00am on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan. Please share memories of Bill at his memory book above.
