Zofja Pas “Sophie,” age 75 of Rochester Hills, and formerly of Troy, died Friday, December 27, 2019 at home. She was born January 28, 1944 in Munsingen, Germany, daughter of the late Stanislaus and the late Sofia (nee: Muczurad) Przybylski.
In her working years, Sophie was employed as a bookkeeper in the retail industry where her expertise was well exercised and appreciated. When she was not working and found some time for a bit of entertainment, one of her favorite pastimes was heading to the casino,…and one of her favorite venues was the MGM Grand Casino in Detroit. Sophie loved giving those One-Armed Bandits a workout, and so enjoyed giving Ol’ Lady Luck a run for her money. The ambiance and anticipation were each a part of what went into her affinity for visiting the casino,…and of course, winning made it even more special and attracting.
In her earlier years, Sophie was also quite the bowler and loved joining her fellow kegler’s at the lanes for a little friendly competition. Nothing says fun quite like gathering around the ball return machine, in your warm & comfy bowling shoes, making the memories that will last a lifetime.
Sophie was also a lover of animals, and none-so-much as her precious pups, Pepper & Ginger. There’s just something about the warmth and compassion of our four-legged, furry friends that make life more meaningful,…and Sophie was blessed to know it. She was also blessed by the new friendships she had made in her new home at the Avon Towers in Rochester Hills. It was a wonderful way to enjoy her Golden Years with a host of new golden friendships.
Sophie was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Pas. Loving sister of Casimir (Anna) Przybylski, and the late Joseph Przybylski. Dearest aunt of Andrea (Brian) Martin, Casimir (Laura) Przybylski, and great aunt of Benjamin, Lucy, Graham, and Brooks. Sophie was the dearest friend to Nancy Johnson, and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass for Mrs. Pas will be held at Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 4440 Russell Street in Detroit at a later date.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd.) in Warren.
