Augustus "Gus" Reed

Reed, Augustus B. “Gus”, son of the late Raymond and Avis (Manchester) Reed, loving husband of Donna Lynn (Ferreira) Reed, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Besides his wife, Gus is survived by his sons, Jonathan Reed and his wife Colleen of Bristol and Michael Reed and his wife Lydia of Swansea, his brother Raymond C. Reed, and nine grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Thelma Crane.

Born in Fall River, MA, it was in the town of Warren, RI that Gus called home. He was a proud veteran of the Army, serving during the time of the Vietnam War. He also proudly served on the Warren Police Reserves for many years. Gus was known for being a jack of all trades, involving projects in mechanics, construction and remodeling. From home repairs to classic cars and motorcycles, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He is greatly missed by his friends, family, and adoring cats, Duke and Tera.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 9 AM – 12 PM in WILBUR-ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 615 Main Street, Warren. Burial to follow in Newport Memorial Park, 123 Howland Ave., Middletown.
