Born in 1944, Barbara grew up in Barrington, the daughter of Frank & Enessa (Paolino) Mendoza. She married Richard Morrissette in 1962, and was proud of the home she kept, and the family they built together.
She will be profoundly and forever remembered by her two sons and their wives, Richard (JR) & Martha, Brian & Paula, who supported and cared for her in the years following their father’s death in 1991.
She was the sister of Frank Mendoza, Jr & his wife, Barbara, and sister-in-law of Paul Morrissette and his wife, Audrey, all of whom have predeceased her. Her sister-in-law Annette (Morrissette) Silva survives her, as matriarch of the Morrissette family.
Barbara was Gumball Grandma to Benjamin (Lexie) and Cole (Goldie). Great-grandmother to Alaya and Axel. Step-grandmother to Becca and Brent.
She was dearly loved by her nieces and nephews, Lori, Kim, Marci, Karen, Kenny, David and Joel, as well as her former daughter-in-law, Krissie.
She enjoyed friendships that went back decades to her childhood, and made new friends quickly, trading banter and laughter with anyone who was up for a spirited conversation.
She never met a dog she didn’t like, and over the years she walked Barrington Beach with many of them.
Upon moving to Bristol, she appreciated the friends she made at Benjamin Church Manor, Franklin Court Assisted Living, and finally at Silver Creek Manor.
She was grateful for the care that she received in each place, and on her behalf, the family thanks each one of those kind and caring people who made her laugh, and who made her comfortable. Services will be private.
