Age 101 died Sunday at her home in Touisset. She was the wife of the late Henry E. Conklin who was a Warren High School Industrial Arts Teacher.
Born in Bristol on August 15, 1909 she was a daughter of the late William J. and Mary (Harrington) Burdge. She was a lifelong Warren resident and educated in their school system. A graduate of the Former
Warren High School Class of 1926.
She graduated from the Truesdale Hospital School of Nursing. After she graduated she stayed on at the hospital before going into Private Practice. In 1942 she was elected School Nurse Teacher for Warren’s Health Program. They retired to Touisset in 1969.
She is survived by many devoted nieces and nephews, she was a sister of the late Ellen Leahey, Charles and Irene Burdge. William and Lester Burdge.
Her Funeral with visitation will be Saturday October 2, 2010 from 8:30-9:30 am from Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home 615 Main St. Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Mary of the Bay Church. Burial will be in South Burial Ground.
