

Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (McKenzie) Pires and was raised in Bristol. He moved to Warren in 1960. He had been employed at Blount Seafood for over thirty years retiring in the 1990’s.
Rabs will be remembered as an avid fisherman and a Champion quahog shucker. He enjoyed all salt water activities including camping. He and his family traveled in their Motor home across the US and into Canada.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mary and her husband Tom McKenna of Barrington, and Deborah LaPore of East Providence, four brothers, Louis Pires of Bristol, Alfred, George and Edward Pires all of Warren, five grandchildren Larry, Brian, Missy, Tommy, and Robert and one great grandson Cameron. He was the brother of the late Theresa, Frank, Joseph, and Arthur Pires.
A funeral was held on Tuesday from the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Alexander Church, Warren. Burial will be private.
