

On April 29, 2015, age 80, of Washington DC. Born August 19, 1934 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of Eugene and Viola (Deluhery) O’Brien. Alice’s career evolved over time to show the breadth of her interests. Among other things she worked for University Research Company first as an administrative assistant and later as their first network administrator building an IT team. In her later years, she became a professional genealogical researcher. She treasured her years raising her children and being a wife, mother and grandmother most. Alice is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Evans; children, Janet Evans (Larry Strauss), John Evans, Paul Evans (Leah Harris), James Evans (Sue Stewart-Evans), Ronald Evans and Tom Evans; brother Thaddeus O’Brien (Sharon); eight grandchildren, Nicholas Evans, Alexandra K. Evans, Alexandra R. Evans, Daniel Strauss, Melanie Evans, Katrina Strauss, Megan Evans and Sheila Evans; one great-grandson, Derek Frank-Lerner; other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Kathleen Evans. Relatives and friends may call at Joseph Gawler’s Sons 5130 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington DC (corner of Harrison St) on Friday, May 1 from 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday May 2, 2015 at The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 3644 Quesada Street NW, Washington, DC. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.
