
On June 9, 2014, ANN BELSER ASHER of Bethesda, MD, departed this life. Beloved wife of Norman J. Asher; devoted mother of Caroline Walker of Bedford Hills, NY, Blaine Asher of Washington, DC, Norman Asher of Chevy Chase, MD and John Asher of Bethesda; devoted mother-in-law of John Walker, Janet Asher, Jeanne Asher and Anne Asher; doting grandmother of Ann, John, Elizabeth and Lindsay Walker, Jared, Henry, Brian, Eric, Julia and Virginia Asher. Also survived by granddaughter-in-law, Lauren.
Born in Atlanta, GA, she moved to Washington, DC at the age of six, attended National Cathedral School and graduated from Sweet Briar College. She was actively involved with many civic causes especially those focused on protection of the environment and the needs of terminally ill children. She loved history and in 2005 researched and wrote Four Mile Tree, A Jamestown Legacy.
Services will be held at St. David's Episcopal Church, 5150 Macomb St., N.W., Washington, DC on Thursday, June 12 at 2 p.m.
