

Anne Jadwiga Wiernicki of Bethesda, Maryland, passed peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2015. She was born in Lublin, Poland on August 6, 1932, and lived through the Second World War as a young child and was a refugee moving throughout Europe for most of the war. Following the war, her family settled in England and Anne attended boarding school in Scotland. She met her husband in London where she also earned a Degree in Education. From England, they moved to the United States, where she earned a Masters Degree in Russian from American University and completed a long and successful career as an educator and then as a cartographer with the Defense Mapping Agency.
Anne is survived by her husband of sixty years, John N. Wiernicki, and by her two sons, Christopher J. Wiernicki of Houston, TX and Peter J. Wiernicki of Potomac, MD. Nothing brought her more joy then her five grandchildren: Sarah Wiernicki, Caitlin Wiernicki, Anna Wiernicki, Caroline Wiernicki and Jack Wiernicki.
The family will come together for a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Poland/St. Maximilian Kolbe, 9700 Rosensteel Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
