Dear Fleur,

I want to extend my sympathy to you and your family on this great loss. My parents, my brother and I held Charles in the highest esteem. His life, his family and his career stand as a tribute to the entire Bresler family.

Uncle Buddy taught me many lessons that I will always remember. He was a strong example of the ideals I hold dear. He is in my prayers and my heart.

The woodturning community has lost a champion.  I'm glad he got to see the Renwick opening and to feel the respect, friendship, and appreciation of all those involved.  Although I didn't know him previously, it's obvious that he had a lively sense of humor.  Best wishes to Fleur and family.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you remember the many happy days.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I hope your memories bring you strength and comfort. Although I'd only met and talked to the both of you once, I thought 'Uncle Buddy' (as he was introduced to me) was a very nice person, with a good heart, a great wife and a nice family. He will surely be missed by many.

I am so sorry for your recent loss- Charles was a great man, and I hope you do not underestimate the positive impact that you and he have had on the lives of so many makers –including mine- as a result of your generous support of the Woodturning Center and its programs. The visit to your home remains one of the most wonderful experiences of my life, and hearing about your personal connections with the makers is what brings real humanity to the collection. I hope you can know what an important place you hold in the lives and hearts of so many artists, and the far reaching implications your efforts will provides for future generations. May gratitude for Charles’s life exceed all your sorrow, and may you find comfort in remembering that you are part of something much bigger.

Often behind the scenes but always there, ready and willing to add support whenever needed. So very sad to hear this.  All our love to the family and especially Fleur.  I so treasure the fact that we got to visit at the Renwick opening.  He was a real card and we will remember him fondly, always!  Charles & Tami Kegley, Boerne, TX.

Charles will be missed by so many, and it is in remembering his kindness and gentleness, and supportive friendship that will continue to serve as an enduring memory.  It was a privilege to share some time with him and with you Fleur in your home and at the Renwick. Peace and blessings.

To Fleur and family - Sheryl and I were shocked and saddened by the news about Charlie.  We are both glad that we got to see him at the opening at the Renwick and at your home.  We always looked forward to talking to Charlie and listening to his fascinating stories.  And we always loved his jokes, even if we heard them before.  Every time that we met with your family, we felt like we were part of it.  We feel blessed to have known him and been able to have shared a short time together.  We will truly miss him and want to convey our deepest sympathies to you.

Charles was a man of accoplishments.  his greatest accomplishment was his treatment of others.  i will always remember him for his wisdom, and most importantly, his heart.  He did not wear his heart on his sleeve; he showed it in his actions.  godspeed Charlie.

To Fleur and the entire Bresler family--we will miss Charlie, for the sparkle in his eye, his dry sense of humor, and the obvious pride he had in his family. Our hearts go out to all of you.

Members of the James Renwick Alliance express great sorrow at the lost of a devoted support of craft and are so glad that Charlie was able to enjoy the opening of the Bresler Wood turning exhibition at the Renwick.  We are grateful for his spontaneous efforts of raising $250,000 for the Lloyd Herman edowment for a curator of craft position at the Renwick Gallery and for his ever joyful presence. We shall miss him.  James Renwick Alliance.

Fleur and Family - we are so glad that Charlie got to enjoy the whole Renwick/Bresler/CWA weekend and that we saw you both so happy so recently. Such a great punctuation on a great life !  We loved him and our hearts are very heavy along with yours.
