Cynthia Borden Cobb, born December 5, 1958, in Washington, D.C., passed away on June 29, 2025, in Shady Side, Maryland. With a lifelong love of travel and photography, Cynthia spent much of her free time capturing landscapes, spending time with friends, exploring architecture, and processing her own prints in a darkroom.
In retirement, she rekindled her passion for black and white film photography, discovered the wonders of the cyanotype process, and began developing her Mahjong skills. She adored all things Sondheim, making occasional pilgrimages to Broadway, and loved traveling to interesting places for cooking classes, food tours, and art museums. Her warm smile, easy laugh, and good-natured spirit will endure with friends and family.
Cynthia is survived by Henry, her husband of 30 years; her beloved sons, Nicholas and Oliver; her sisters, Georgia and Susannah; and her mother, Virginia. A memorial service will be held on July 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Bethesda, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, please donate to www.glenechophotoworks.org
