I have very fond memories of Eleanor when I worked in the Laboratory during 1970-1979.  I remember she was a kind and gentle soul.  My sincere condolences go out to her family at this most difficult time.  With my deepest sympathy, Kathleen Fox, Celebration, Florida.

Eleanor and I first met in 1955 when I transferred into the Laboratory.  Over the years we became friends and often had lunch together.  Eleanor came to visit my sister and I in WV and we had such a good time.  I talked with her often and will miss our conversations and miss my good friend.

Thinking of the family during this time; Mrs. Jackson was a very special person.

Eleanor and our mom, Elinor, were life-long friends from the time they were young girls growing up on Western Avenue in Davenport, Iowa.  To us she was Aunt Eleanor, and we always enjoyed her visits to our house as she stayed with us many times on her trips to Davenport.  Our family visited her once in Washington, D.C., and she took us to lunch at the FBI building.  The last time Eleanor and Elinor were able to visit in person was 2004, but they always kept in touch by phone.  Now that both have passed  (Mom passed away in October 2014), we're sure they are having a grand time catching up with each other and remembering all of the good times they had together.

Her generosity and care to our great big family was constant--how blessed we were that she always made time for us and shared her creative gifts of knitting and embroidering in the form of blankets and hats and mittens over the years. Eleanor was such a special "cousin", although I think we considered her more of an Aunt. She was always knitting something for someone - making some of the most beautiful blankets for all of our babies in the family. So much fun to get something from Eleanor because it was always made with such love, and care. We certainly loved to hear stories of her FBI days - sounded so exciting to a mid-westerner! I never got to visit her out east, but I certainly cherished her visits to us here - she was the most gracious guest and always cheerful - I can't remember a time when I didn't see Eleanor smile - she was always happy to see all of us and share time with us. Thanks to the Springer clan for the beautiful photo tribute to such a wonderful lady, and making final arrangements!! Blessings.

Eleanor was my role model as a young working girl living away from home on my own, in an apartment building that seemed similar to hers in DC. I always thought of her as my sweet 'auntie'. She lived her life to the fullest, was always so kind to her family, especially when we invited ourselves to the big city for a visit. She was loved and will always be remembered with respect and affection.

I worked with Eleanor at the FBI Laboratory in the Questioned Documents Unit.  We shared an office together for a fews years.  In fact, the video shows pictures of the two of us together at work. I'm the brunette in the one photo where she is flanked by two girls, and in the one in the red jacket in the other photo.  Eleanor was a very kind and gentle woman. I loved talking to her about her early years in the Bureau and all the famous cases she remembered while working in the FBI Laboratory.  I will truly miss her.

How sweet this lady...always knitting booties & mittens for us when we were kids...then doing needlepoint on baby blankets when we grew up and had kids of our own. Her love of family was heart-warming. Her love of country, too. A dedicated employee at the FBI for so very many years. As Guest: I enjoyed staying at her apartment on a visit to D.C. we almost got snowed-in! They had to close the zoo so I missed seeing the pandas. Her hospitality was gracious and I remember her awesome paper weight collection! Eleanor - Thank You!!! We send our Love to You.

I want to thank everyone who has reached out to express their thoughts and prayers for Eleanor.   She was a very special lady who was very much loved.
