Elvira V. Foster, 87, of Chevy Chase, MD died peacefully on July 22, 2012. Her loving family are her son, Clifton A. Foster, daughter-in-law, Mette I. Foster and two grand-children, Nicholas A. Foster and Christina E. Foster all of Chevy Chase, MD.
Beloved wife of late Ernest O. Foster. She was with him for 35 wonderful and fulfilling years in US Foreign Service postings to Austria, Iceland, Iran, Lebanon and Portugal and return to Chevy Chase. She was always engaged in her community as moderator of the Friendship Heights Community Center weekly foreign affairs discussion group and volunteered at the Montgomery County Thrift Shop. She was a long-standing member of DACOR and frequent hostess of her bridge group. She was a polylinguist with knowledge of 10 languages.
Her family will hold a private service. It was her wish to be cremated.
