

Fanchon A. Castro on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 of Bethesda, Maryland. Raised by her guardians Hon. Jesse P. Wolcott and Grace Sullivan of Battle Creek, MI; beloved wife of the Dr. Alejandro F. Castro; loving mother of Robert J. Castro of Bethesda, Maryland and Alex F. Castro, II. of Sarasota, Florida. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, Dr. Elena M. Castro, Mrs. Diana Obenshain of Bethesda and Robert L. Castro of New Orleans, LA; Ingrid Graff Cailleaud, of Longages, France, Alejandro F. Castro III, of New York City, and Philip A. Castro of Santa Monica, CA; AND four great-grandchildren Leyla Hana Yun, Madeline Elizabeth Obenshain, Bethesda; Sabine Castro and Alexandra Castro of New York City.
Fanchon Castro was active as office manager in service to her uncle Hon. Jesse P. Wolcott (R-MI) from inception of his duty as congressman through his tenure as Chairman of the House Bank and Currency Committee (today Financial Services Committee) during the first Dwight D. Eisenhower Administration. She was later an active member of the Women’s Auxiliary of both the American and Piedmont Proctological Societies.
