George was a “lifer” at Maret in Washington, DC. He attended Maret from kindergarten to twelfth grade, alongside his sister. During his four (4) year high school football career, he was known for never fumbling the ball. He also played high school basketball. George absolutely loved sports. He graduated from Maret in 1978.
After graduation, George attended Furman University, in South Carolina. He continued his love of football by assisting the Furman football team and other sports teams with weight training. George graduated from Furman with honors obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Business in 1982.
George started working full-time at the family business after college. His knowledge of property management and commercial real estate expanded while working for and learning from his father and uncles. George pursued this passion, which resulted in him becoming a successful real estate investor.
George married JoAnn Deoudes Calomiris on May 6, 1989, at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, a loving union that lasted thirty-four years.
Together, George and JoAnn had two daughters, Alexa Helen and Julia Marie. George pushed both his daughters to play golf, which was the best decision he could have ever made for them, because both Alexa and Julia played collegiate golf.
George passed away peacefully on February 14, 2024. George was the life of the party. He is at peace knowing his family has a strong support system.
