

We are saddened to announce the death of our beloved mother Grace Tamm Escudero on December 24, 2021. Grace was a gracious hostess sharing her home with her friends and all her children’s friends over the years. She had a deep love of Washington football, tennis, bridge and theater. A life-long Washingtonian, Grace was born on February 20, 1938 at Georgetown University Hospital to the Honorable Edward Allen Tamm and Grace Sullivan Tamm. After attending elementary school at Blessed Sacrament School, she enrolled at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart from which she graduated in 1956. She went on to Newton College in Boston, Massachusetts from which she graduated in 1960. She was a loving daughter, wife and mother, creating a wonderful family of five girls –Monique Kadnar (Norman), Paulette Harris (Todd), Michelle Escudero (Scott Kane), Yvette Escudero and Nicole Christenson (Cass). She was an even more wonderful grandmother to Cole, Grace, Thomas, William, Magdalena, Mario and Sullivan. Grace was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and a former member of the Church of the Little Flower, the Capital Speakers Club (President 1992-1993), the Kenwood Garden Club (President 1983-1985), the Welcome to Washington International Club, Columbia Country Club, the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary (President 1987-1988), and the Washington Club. She was also a constant volunteer at her girls’ schools - Stone Ridge and Immaculata Preparatory School. We will celebrate Grace’s life at a Mass of Christian Burial at The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 5949 Western Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC on January 6,2022 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends and family at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart.
