James Francis Xavier Tomsheck unexpectedly passed away on June 7, 2024 at his home in Bethesda, MD. James was born on Nov. 3, 1952 in Omaha, NE to Stanley and Rose. Over 40 years of distinguished service in law enforcement, James served as a Police Officer for the City of Omaha, as a Special Agent/Deputy Assistant Director for the U.S. Secret Service, including in the Presidential Protective Division, and finally, as Assistant Commissioner for Internal Affairs at U.S. Customs and Border Protection. James is remembered as a man of integrity with a deep Catholic faith and a sense of adventure. James is survived by his sister Janet Barnes, wife Catherine, and sons Cullen and Ryan. His sister Joan Stephaney proceeded him in death. The funeral service for James will take place on June 14, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Washington, DC at 1:30PM with a visitation beginning at 12:30PM.
