Joan Knouse Nolan

After a brief battle with pancreatic cancer JOAN KNOUSE NOLAN died September 20, 2013 at home surrounded by her children. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, James G. Nolan. She is survived by her four children: Brian Nolan of Chicago, IL; Andrea Singy (Jacques) of Lynchburg, VA; Suzanne Weiss (Timothy) of Edwardsville, IL; and Evonne Tvardek (Thomas) of Rockville, MD. Also mourning her loss are her six grandchildren: Kaitlin, Alyssa and Kara Weiss; Alexandra, Samantha and Brendan Singy; her brothers, George and Wib (Debbie) Knouse, and sisters, Delores Poulin and Evonne (Richard) McGill. She was predeceased by her sister Helena Hanson and her brother Ernest Knouse. Her many loving nieces and nephews and old friends as well as dear new friends from Ingleside at King Farm will also miss her. Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 520 Veirs Mill Rd., Rockville, MD, on September 28 at 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery will follow the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Montgomery Hospice Society, 1355 Piccard Dr., Suite 100, Rockville, MD 20850. The family would like the thank the staff of Montgomery Hospice for the compassionate Care during Joan's illness.
