Jack was a great lawyer, and was also a decent, mindful, and generous person.  He patiently taught me EO law, and how to navigate through the personalities and policies of the office.  When I had a tough decision to make, I would regularly seek out his wise counsel, and he would never disappoint.  I often told Jack that he was my Yoda.  Jack also had an incredible gift of curiosity.  He never passed up an opportunity to explore and seek out new discoveries.  He knew there was much to learn from both the familiar and the unfamiliar, and he loved to share what he learned with others.  And when he was in the office, I could be sure that at least once during that day he would say something that would make me smile.  To paraphrase something said about another great Irishman - Earth, receive an honored guest.  Jack Reilly is laid to rest.

I was sorry to hear about Jack.  We both worked in the same office, but our paths only crossed a few times.  He was one of the great ones. I know he made significant contributions that improved the EO universe forever.  He also had the best group of good and loyal friends that anyone could ever hope to have.

What a wonderful man.  I recall going out with him on speaking assignments. He always made a terrific impression dressed in a rich black suit.  When speaking publicly, he also made sure that his hair was neatly combed and he was well shaved . . . traits that were a bit lax day-to-day in the office.  Once a supervisor remarked about how well he looked before Jack left to speak at a local tax seminar.  Jack knew exactly what the manager meant.  "I clean up well," he mumbled with some sarcasm.  I will remember you.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Jack.I have such fond memories of being a bridesmaid in your wedding and of your family visits to our home in Va Beach when Joseph was involved in High School wrestling.You even drove down to share Thanksgiving dinner with us that year which was so special to me.My thoughts and prayers are with you,Theresa,Joseph,Lorraine and their families. Jack was a mentor, advisor, friendly ear, but most importantly, a good friend for 30 years we were colleagues at IRS. Jack was not only blessed with a brilliant intellect, but he maintained a standard of integrity that inspired, though sometimes frustrated, those around him. He was a genuinely wonderful man.
