

Joseph Dennin died on June 11, 2023 in Bethesda, MD, two days after celebrating his 80th birthday.
Joseph Francis Dennin was born on June 9, 1943 in New York City during a black out to William Dennin and Kathryn Sever. He moved to Long Beach, CA when he was 7 and later graduated from Wilson High School. He attended Stanford University and Law School. Before completing a Fulbright Scholarship in Finland Joe married Sandra Peek. He loved to travel, so before taking a job with the Wall Street law firm of Simpson, Thatcher and Bartlett they traveled the world and then settled in New York City and had two children, Teri and Allison. Joe was asked to come to Washington, D.C. in 1975 to serve on the Church Committee, a special committee appointed to investigate federal intelligence operations. He also served under two presidents in the White House and worked for several agencies, including the Justice Department and the Commerce Department. After his 3rd child, Jimmy was born Joe joined the firm of McKenna, Connor and Cuneo and practiced International law for over 30 years. His passion for travel that began early in life, continued through his retirement. Joe ended up visiting every country in the world except two. His wife, Sandra and three children, Teri Adams, Allison Dennin and Jimmy Dennin, as well as a son-in-law Alex Adams and a daughter-in-law Caroline Dennin survive him. He felt lucky and blessed to have 4 grandchildren, Claire and Shea Adams and Cooper and Brooks Dennin. His service and burial will take place on June 24, 2023 in Long Beach, CA.
